The call for papers for the 4th Offshore Mariculture Conference, organised by Mercator Media Ltd, has now been released. The event is a must attend for all fish farmers.

In 2012, the event is being held in Izmir, Turkey, on the 17-19 October 2012.
Abstracts are being invited on the following topics:
Overview of the latest developments in aquaculture - Growing the wealth of aquaculture: perspectives and potential, Food security, climate change and aquaculture
Doing business offshore - International, regional and national legislations, policies, strategies and plans for sustainable mariculture, Codes of practice for allocation of zones for offshore fish farming
Management and husbandry - Developing (remote) management systems to enable all year farming in harsh sea conditions, Health management issues (standards, certification, schemes, etc.), Codes of practice for husbandry and safety, farm security and data links
Innovative Technologies - Cost-effective harvesting and stock processing technologies, Transfer, adaptation and incorporation of technologies from other offshore sectors, Offshore cage culture engineering
Environment, biodiversity and climate change - Environmental interaction between aquaculture and other coastal sectors, Genetic effects of aquaculture escapes

Case studies from producers wherever possible/applicable will be given preference and abstracts from academia/research should include the application of research and/or transfer of knowledge.
