Mercator Media Limited, publisher of ''World Fishing and Aquaculture'' and organiser of the Offshore Mariculture Conference, has won a business excellence award for international development.
The Portsmouth News Business Excellence ‘International Development Award 2015’ comes as a result of Mercator’s successful work in broadening its event offering, particularly with regard to the leading European commercial marine exhibition Seawork, which had a sister exhibition launched in Asia last year.
Mercator’s chief executive, Andrew Webster, collected the award at a glittering ceremony at Portsmouth’s Guildhall. He said: “I am immensely proud, and to think for 25 years all of our suppliers and many of our employees live within a couple of miles from this Guildhall. It’s fantastic.”
The judges from the Portsmouth News said: "Mercator Media, in Fareham (UK), which has delivered Europe’s leading commercial marine exhibition, won the international development award. More than 7,000 marine professionals attended Seawork 2014 in Southampton and a new exhibition has now been launched in Asia."
Mercator Media Ltd is a niche publishing company specialising mainly in B2B marine websites, magazines, and events.
