The first contract is with MAN D&T SE Germany and Karstensens Skibsværtf A/S Norway for a pelagic trawler for the shipowner Charisma Fishing Co Ltd, Shetland. The second is with Aas Mek Verksted AS, Norway for a live fish carrier for the shipowner Sølvtrans AS, Norway.

Both operators wanted to achieve optimised and effective systems for safety, fuel efficiency and environmental considerations and the Brunvoll systems are all custom made to meet the specific vessel’s operational profile.

The system packages consist of propulsion systems with reduction gear, cp-propellers with nozzle, complete thruster systems with electric drives and starters and propulsion and manoeuvring controls.

Pelagic trawler

The propulsion system for the new pelagic trawler for Charisma Fishing is a two-speed reduction gear and cp-propeller system with nozzle driven by a MAN-diesel engine of 7200 kW.

Its thruster package includes a stern tunnel thruster and a combined retractable azimuth/tunnel thruster in the bow which acts as a tunnel thruster in upper position and as an azimuth thruster in immersed position.

The delivery to Aas Mek Verksted is for a new live fish carrier for Sølvtrans AS. The propulsion system is a diesel-mechanical reduction gear and cp-propeller with nozzle connected to a Yanmar diesel engine of 1920 kW.

Its thruster package consists of two tunnel thrusters for stern and bow. The contract contains option for one additional shipset.

Deliveries will take place during 2018.
