Beam Communications Pty Ltd has announced two new satellite piracy solutions for secure communication onboard a vessel.
Beam’s new Oceana 800 Covert Piracy Solution and PotsDOCK Extreme Covert Piracy Solution
both provide a dedicated system for a safe room or citadel onboard a vessel. The systems ensure that, in the event of a piracy attack, essential communications onboard the vessel can be maintained and used for alerting authorities.
The Oceana 800 Piracy Solution operates with the Inmarsat FleetPhone service and the PotsDOCK Extreme Covert Piracy Solution couples the Iridium Extreme handset and the Beam Extreme PotsDOCK. Both systems ensure the captain and crew have access to communications, tracking and alert functionality from the system. In the event of an attack an alert can be raised and then the vessel tracked immediately.
