A new benchmark has been set with this innovative design just released from Australia''s International achiever in anchor windlass technology.

Muir has extended the highly successful Compact series of windlasses to incorporate Automatic Freefall windlasses.

Just released, the HFF 600 Automatic Freefall incorporates world-patented technology which allows remote and automatic freefall operation from the helm for faster, more accurate and controlled anchor placement.

This new freefall windlass follows the same design concept as the Muir Automatic Freefall VFF 1050 windlass that was honoured at the DAME Awards in Europe, one of the marine industry's most coveted design awards.

Resources

Muir have invested considerable resources to develop an Automatic Freefall system that is highly effective and really works as an automatic freefall should.

The Marine Industry recognises the need for greater security and safety for vessels, and that reliable and quality anchoring equipment is paramount.

No longer do skippers need to move to the bow to drop anchor, nor do they need rely on the slow power down options offered by most conventional windlasses.

The HFF600, with its helm-mounted switch has changed all this, allowing you to single-handedly raise or lower the anchor, quickly and accurately, without leaving the helm at all.

The anchor is freefalled at rapid speeds, ensuring quick and accurate placement.

High speeds

Even at these high speeds the fall can be interrupted at any stage, then resumed again quickly and easily, by operating the helm up/down switch.

Original mooring positions are maintained with the anchor reaching the bottom in just a few seconds, perfect for anchoring in tight positions or when tough weather conditions prevail.

The new HFF 600 is supplied with a 12 volt DC 200 watt motor and retrieval under optimal conditions is fast at 25 metres per minute.

This unit is rated for a maximum load of 600 lbs (272 kg) and has a low amp draw.

Design excellence

Continuing Muir's tradition of excellence in design, the HFF 600 features the unique Rope Chain Management System (RCMS) which facilitates smooth, jam-free operation of rope - chain combination and will take spliced lengths of 6-7 mm chain and 12 mm rope.

The HFF 600 has been engineered for longevity with chromed bronze gypsy and clutch cap, stainless steel shaft and mounting bolts, and for that extra peace of mind it is backed by the Muir three year limited warranty.

With its fully-enclosed motor/gearbox assembly, the Compact HFF 600 Freefall has been designed for simple above deck installation with minimal deck intrusion.

Finished in a durable white gloss powdercoated casing with highly polished chrome bronze running gear, the Muir Compact HFF 600 Freefall will complement the deck of even the most elegant boat.

The HFF600 Automatic Freefall windlass satisfies an important need in the popular 5 - 8 metre power and sail boat markets.
