The Government of Angola has awarded a contract for the construction of 210 fishing and general missions’ coastal boats to the Spanish company ARESA Boat''s.

With a budget of €77m, the boats will be built by the Drassanes d'Arenys shipyard; a company that also forms part of ARESA Boat’s.

Oscar López Salvadó, general manager of the company says, "Our company has always had an international vocation, for we have always looked for new markets to allow us to develop and grow. This project with Angola is the result of several years of hard work, in which little by little we have managed to gain the trust and prestige of African governments and companies, as well as those of other countries".

The ships contracted by the Angolan government are mainly fishing ships of different lengths, as well as coastal patrol boats to survey the above mentioned fleet. ARESA Boat's will also provide staff training.

The ships’ delivery is expected to take place next April, in an official act with Angolan and Spanish politicians.
