The first large commercial fishing vessel built in Alaska, F/V ''Arctic Prowler'', has been christened at Alaska Industrial Development and Export Authority (AIDEA)''s Ketchikan Shipyard.

The vessel was built by Alaska Ship & Drydock (ASD), which operates Ketchikan Shipyard for AIDEA.

The 136ft freezer longliner vessel, built for Alaska Longline Company, is also the first vessel to be constructed in Ketchikan Shipyard’s new 70,000 square foot Assembly and Production Hall.

Arctic Prowler will fish for Pacific cod, blackcod and turbot in the Bering Sea and Gulf of Alaska.
