The collaboration integrates FAI’s proven welfare assessment framework into HydroNeo’s digital farm management app, providing shrimp farmers with innovative tools to monitor and enhance shrimp welfare.

“HydroNeo’s mobile farm management app was created to help shrimp farmers, especially small-scale operators, easily track production factors like water quality,” explained Fabian Reusch, Founder and CEO of HydroNeo.

“By adding FAI’s welfare technology, we’re helping farmers raise healthier shrimp that not only meet consumer expectations but also perform better in terms of growth and overall farm productivity.”

Smarter farming

FAI is recognised globally for its fish and shrimp welfare projects and partnering with Thailand-based HydroNeo allows them to extend their impact to one of the largest shrimp-producing regions in the world.

Through this collaboration, FAI’s welfare tools will be accessible to thousands of shrimp farmers across Asia, driving improvements in both shrimp health and farm profitability.

HydroNeo’s Smart Farm app, available for free on iOS and Android, supports farmers with real-time monitoring and automation, fostering a more sustainable and welfare-centric approach to shrimp farming.

The partnership is expected to advance sustainable practices in the aquaculture industry and enhance the well-being of farmed shrimp, while also increasing farmers’ profitability.

This collaboration underscores both companies’ commitment to advancing shrimp farming practices and promoting animal welfare throughout Asia.
