Catherine McManus has been appointed by salmon farming company Mowi to the role of Operations Director, Farming (Ireland).
McManus has been part of the Mowi team for over 30 years, most recently in the role of Technical Manager in Ireland. In her new position, she will take on the complete management oversight of the company’s farming operations.
Commenting on her appointment, McManus said that she looked forward to building on the commitment and vision of her predecessor Jan Feenstra and harnessing the opportunity set out by government strategy.
“The debate and focus around food security has heightened significantly of late and we believe that Mowi has a very important role to play in producing sustainable and high-quality protein from our oceans,” she said.
Mowi Ireland produces organic salmon under the name “The Irish Organic Salmon Co”.
