In December 2024, Cargill (EWOS) Canada and Mowi Feed in Scotland and Norway became the latest companies to achieve ASC Feed Certification, underscoring their commitment to environmental sustainability and social responsibility.

Cargill (EWOS) Canada made history by becoming the first ASC-certified feed company in Canada. Operating out of Surrey, British Columbia, the company produces feed for a range of species including trout, salmon and tilapia. This certification marks a significant milestone in advancing responsible feed supply for farms across North America and the Pacific Rim.

The ASC’s feed certification scheme has enjoyed a strong year with Cargill Canada and Mowi Feed among the newest members

Mowi Feed, with facilities in Scotland and Norway, also earned ASC Feed certification, reinforcing the company’s commitment to responsible farming practices. Their feed mills, located in Kyleakin on the Isle of Skye and Valsneset in Norway, provide feed primarily for salmon.

By promoting responsible feed production, the ASC Feed Standard encourages sustainability and social responsibility across the supply chain. With 16 units of certification across multiple countries, including Canada, Norway and Thailand, the programme has seen widespread adoption.

ASC-certified farms must source ASC-conforming feed by 31 October 2025 to retain their certification.
