Under the contract, Artec Aqua will immediately commence the project design phase for the facility which is planned to run until the end of 2023.

“We are delighted to be awarded this contract and to continue our long-standing cooperation with Salmon Evolution. Overall, the results at Indre Harøy (phase 1) have been excellent, and the feedback from our customer is that our project execution and our technology is a major contributor to this success,” said Ingegjerd Eidsvik, CEO of Artec Aqua.

Big contract

Subject to a final investment decision by Salmon Evolution, Artec Aqua will also deliver hybrid flow-through technology and manage the construction and commissioning of the process facility.

The total project cost for phase 2 of the build project, including both civil works and the process facility, is estimated to be worth between NOK 1.6 and 1.7 billion.

Artec Aqua has previously conducted design, construction and commissioning of Salmon Evolution’s phase 1 at Indre Harøy. The facility has already delivered strong results over an extended period of time.

Salmon Evolution has already started on the project with initial groundworks and plans to be in a position to start phase 2 construction works by year end 2023.

The contract also includes an intention for Artec Aqua to provide technical infrastructure for Salmon Evolution’s phase 3 (BTC), which is double the size of phase 1 and 2 at Indre Harøy.

“Salmon Evolution sets the bar high when it comes to quality of our suppliers and the services they provide,” said Trond Håkon Schaug-Pettersen, CEO of Salmon Evolution.

”Artec Aqua has proven that they possess the competence and capabilities to deliver build-out projects according to our expectations. We look forward to cooperating with them on this phase too.”
