Aker Seafoods has entered into an agreement with Domstein Enghav Sweden to take over the activities connected to the wholly-owned subsidiary Fiskmästar’n. As a result, Aker Seafoods will play a considerable larger role in the Swedish markets of consumer pack products and expects to increase its revenue with close to SEK 50 million.
Fiskmästar’n is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Domstein Enghav and produces consumer pack products made of fresh fish for distribution to Sweden and Denmark.
Aker Seafoods Denmark A/S (formerly known as Thorfisk), which will now manage all of the operations of Fiskmästar’n, has 12 years of experience within purchasing, processing and handling sales of consumer pack fresh white fish, mainly for the Danish market. Through its purchase of the Fiskmästar’n operation, Aker Seafoods will achieve a solid basis for developing the category consumer pack fish also in the Swedish market.
Fiskmästar’n is not considered a part of Domstein Enghav Sweden’s core business. Domstein Enghav will now concentrate on its production and sale of cooled and frozen processed seafood products mainly at the company’s operations in Kungshamn and Lysekil in Sweden and Hammel in Denmark.
In Norway, Domstein Enghav will continue to further develop the market for consumer pack fresh fish, in addition to sales and processing of all categories of seafood.
“We are pleased to be able to increase our activity in the Swedish and Danish market. The new activity in Sweden is very similar to our activity at Aker Seafoods Denmark and it complies well with our strategy of increased deliveries of consumer pack products to the Nordic region”, says Morten Hyldborg Jensen, executive vice president of sales at Aker Seafoods ASA.
