Marel wins Innovation Award 2014

The FleXicut machine cuts away the side bones in fish fillets by using an ultra-thin water jet, minimising the loss of fish flesh. This gives processors a higher yield – and higher profits – as well as a better product quality and boneless products through high precision, automation and flexibility.

The Award consists of a cheque for NOK100,000 and a diploma.

The Jury – Jan Birger Jørgensen, Assistant Secretary General of Norges Fiskarlag; Oddvar Staulen, Senior Advisor of Innovasjon Norge; and Kjell Maroni of the Fisheries and Aquaculture Research Fund – selected Marel from the three nominated finalists which, in addition to Marel, included Mustad Autoline AS and Inventas AS.
