3X Technology had a very successful exhibition at Seafood Processing Europe 2008 in Brussels last month, where it was present for the ninth year running.
The company's stand was well attended and the number of leads was at an all time high for the Icelandic company from a town with a population of 3,000 in the West Fjords of Iceland.
3X told World Fishing that the company completed two important deals at the exhibition; one for an automated washing and handling system for PDM, a company active in the UK by-product industry; and the other for building a world class cold-water shrimp factory for Bakkavík, Iceland's biggest shrimp processor. Both of the deals had been in the pipeline for quite some time, but the opportunity was seized to sign them at one of the world’s biggest fishing industry exhibitions.
The operation manager of the company, Karl Asgeirsson said, “This was one of the biggest days in the history of the company. Our aim is to build the best shrimp factory in the world, with the highest technical level possible, and as much automation as possible. We are also very proud of having entered into one of the most impressive companies in the by-product industry in Europe, where we see good growth opportunities for our products.”
