The UK’s PPS East and Young’s Seafood Limited are forming a mutually beneficial business partnership in Grimsby.
Young’s Seafood recently expanded operations at its Marsden Road factory, which now has the very latest equipment to process whole fish to fillets, steaks and various other cuts. But this has meant that more space has been needed to achieve an increase in production.
To achieve this, specialist company PPS East, which supplies the fishing industry with reusable plastic packaging and wash facilities were called upon to increase its daily wash services for the company.
PPS supports Young’s by providing hygienic wash services for plastic pallets, smoking trays, bulk bins and pallet boxes - all to BRC accreditation.
PPS has also been working to support Young’s Seafood Limited’s ‘Fish for Life’ programme to raise the profile of fish with consumers and reduce the environmental footprint of the company’s operations. The company is also renting returnable plastic fish boxes to some of Young’s UK and Icelandic suppliers for the delivery of fresh product into the Grimsby and Fraserburgh sites.
Grimsby is one of Europe’s vibrant centres for British seafood production and has been the home to Young’s Seafood Limited for more than fifty years.
