Vard has secured contracts for the design and construction of two offshore fish farming operation platforms for Cermaq Norway.

Vard 8 54 platform

The Vard 8 54 platforms have been constructed for safe and efficient operation in rough conditions and for low fuel consumption

The platforms will have a capacity for 600t of fish feed, as well as separate areas for storage, veterinary services, a workshop and accommodation for a crew of eight people.

Developed by Vard Design and Vard Aukra, in close cooperation with Cermaq Norway, the Vard 8 54 platforms will be constructed for safe and efficient operation in rough conditions and for low fuel consumption.

Equipment on board will include cranes, a stabilisation system, a light support workboat, and Vard’s new feeding and monitoring system.

Other features include four generators controlled by Vard Electro’s SeaQ Power Management System and the newly developed Vard Electro SeaQ Control and Monitoring Station for handling of the platforms’ equipment and systems.

Vard Aukra will deliver the platforms to Cermaq Norway, which has operations along the coast of northern Norway, in Q2 and Q3 2018.
