Thai Union Group has appointed Darian May McBain as its new group director of sustainable development, effective 6 July 2015.
She will be in charge of Thai Union Group’s Sustainable Development Strategies and report directly to the company’s global president and CEO, Thiraphong Chansiri.
According to Mr Chansiri, Dr McBain’s appointment is a strategic move for the Thai-based company that is rapidly expanding globally.
“As we look to our next growth phase, which encompasses domestic and international opportunities, it was pertinent for us to appoint an individual with clear understanding of a business that is operating and developing worldwide. Dr McBain’s international experience and expertise is the perfect fit for that key requirement of our business”, he said.
Dr McBain has extensive experience in strategic planning, implementation of sustainable development projects and corporate communications, particularly in engaging stakeholders to achieve strategic outcomes. She has extensive experience working with governments, intergovernmental organisations and non-governmental organisations across the world. Dr McBain was co-director of a business sustainability consultancy until leaving to join Thai Union Group.
