Skinney-Pinganes has bought a pelagic production solution from Icelandic equipment provider, Skaginn.
The company bought 10 of Skaginn’s largest automatic plate freezers and a packaging line.
A spokesperson from Skaginn told World Fishing and Aquaculture the equipment will improve Skinney-Ϸinganes’ capacity to at least 600 tonnes /24 hours for herring, caplin, mackerel. It is also expected to improve product quality.
The sale, which was completed on 13 December 2013, is thought to be Skaginn’s largest domestic sale ever.
