Volunteer RNLI lifeboat crew at Penlee had their Saturday evening disrupted when they were called to tow home a trawler on 17 April 2010.
The Lady Lou had broken down one mile east of the Lowlee Bouy.
The crew launched onboard the Severn class all weather lifeboat Ivan Ellen at 6.20pm and arrived on the scene just 10 minutes later. They connected the tow line and in just under an hour arrived in Newlyn with the stricken vessel. Conditions were calm.
Once the trawler was dealt with, the lifeboat moored up and by all accounts the Coxswain was able to return to the barbecue he had been called away from!
