The company is also remodelling its Chinese plant in Xiangtan to increase its focus on the production of premixes and farm minerals as existing premix facilities are running at full capacity.

The expansion allows Nutreco to serve Vietnamese and Indonesian farmers and feed mills better through enhanced nutritional services and faster response times.

Both plants will produce premises and farm minerals and in Vietnam, young animal feed concentrates will also be produced.

The plant in Xiangtan, China, was built in 1999 to serve primarily as a compound feed facility. A complete remodel will be carried out which Nutreco says will enable it to meet growing demand for high quality, sustainable animal nutrition products in central and southern China. The production will shift from compound feed to premixes, farm minerals, piglet feed and feed activities.

Nutreco’s investment is part of its Driving Sustainable Growth strategy, which focuses on growing and improving profitability by providing innovative and sustainable nutritional solutions. The company is also looking to expand in Latin America, Russia and Africa.
