Tersan Shipyard has delivered a state-of-the-art stern freezer trawler to UK Fisheries LTD, a joint venture of Parlevliet & Van der Plas B.V of the Netherlands and Samherji of Iceland.

Kirkella is equipped with a comprehensive fish processing plant and is the first of two 86m trawlers that are under construction at Tersan Shipyard. Kirkella’s sistership Mark is also scheduled to be delivered in May 2015.

Mr Paksu says that the shipyard now has a dedicated production line for fishing vessels.
Built to be fit for purpose, with excellent trawling manoeuvrability, fuel saving features with floating frequency philosophy and power generation by the electric driven fishing winches, Kirkella is a significant stern factory trawler which Tersan says will be a big highlight in the sector.
