Official launch of Offshore Mariculture 2017
The Offshore Mariculture Conference 2017, the first of its kind to be held in Mexico, will take place 6th-10th March next year at the Hotel Coral and Marina in Ensenada.
The two-and-a-half-day conference will feature a number of topical seminars and case studies from prominent speakers and will focus on the production of Abalone, Seaweed, Mussels and the offshore farming of marine fin fish.
It will also provide information about innovative feed solutions and alternatives, opportunities for financing mariculture projects, the logistics of setting up offshore and how to meet increasing demands for sustainability in today’s society.
A further one and a half days of technical visits to several offshore fish farms in the Ensenada region of Baja California will bring the conference to a close. Species investigated on the technical visits will include Striped Bass, Totoaba, Abalone and many more.
Offshore Mariculture 2017 has been deemed to be of great importance by Federal and Regional Mexican governments and has been granted full official support from the National Commission for Fisheries and Aquaculture (CONAPESCA), the Federal Ministry of Fisheries and Aquaculture (INAPESCA) and from the Regional Government for Fisheries and Aquaculture (SEPESCA). Offshore Mariculture 2017 is also proud to announce that it will enjoy the support of the World Aquaculture Society (WAS).
