Turkish shipbuilding company Tersan Shipyard Inc has launched a new NB1105 Arctic freezer trawler, with the vessel to be named Emerald by its owner P/F Havborg of the Faroe Islands.
The 87.4-metre long and 18-metre wide fishing vessel is an advanced factory trawler arranged for triple trawling with four winches and prepared for a fifth winch to be added if required.

Emerald will be laid out with a fillet production factory deck, a shrimp processing line and a fish meal and fish oil plant providing significant capacity for handling pelagic species.
The fish room capacity will be 2,250 cubic metres, giving it a 1,000-tonne capacity.
The Skipsteknik-designed vessel will have accommodation area for 40 people on board and will be capable of efficiently trawling in icy and arctic waters.

It’s planned that Emerald will to be delivered in the fourth-quarter of this year.New
