SODENA has been actively pursuing the development of innovative technical solutions for professional fishermen over the last 25 years and has now announced the release of TURBO TACTIC® - a ''decision making'' tool, taking into account the overall operation and navigational parameters: acoustic detection, Radar/AIS/Navigation, Power, Trawl net control, Catch ratio, etc…

The TURBO TACTIC® screen

For the first time on the market, the skipper has all the information available on his navigation software. The numerous available 'sensors' are connected and the data displayed is correlated.

For a better catch selection

Taking the acoustic data from Wassp multi-beam technology directly into account, TURBO TACTIC® enables the trawl net to be placed as close as possible to the identified and qualified zones by GEONET®, a 'surgical' trawl net placement control. This tool enables position control using sensors placed in the trawl net. The skipper can then choose targeted, high value catch.

Control and respect for the environment

The quality of multi-beam measurement and processing by the software enables precise qualification of the seabed. TURBO TACTIC® is able to take into account most of the available single-beam sensors (JRC, Seascan, Roxan) to perform seabed analysis operations, and the association with Wassp today probably constitutes the fastest and most accurate solution to qualify the sub-sea environment, says the company.

This understanding of the environment makes limited trawling in defined zones possible. The benefits in terms of energy consumption, waste, work safety and respect for resources are clear.

Lastly, TURBO TACTIC® is linked to a SODENA LOGBOOK, a statistical catch analysis tool (size, weight and species).

Far reaching functional developments around the ECDIS core

“Our new ECDIS standard product, ensuring reliability and navigational safety, is the result of our experience with fishing fleets throughout the world and offers numerous optional applications according to the exact requirements of the skipper” explains Patrick SAUVIN, CEO of SODENA.

In fact, its ability to evolve makes it possible to satisfy all needs for navigation systems, bathymetry and seabed analysis, trawl net positioning, consumption analysis per net haul, display of Catsat oceanographic data, weather or catch statistics, etc…
