Intralox''s new series 1500 flush grid belt has been developed for the seafood industry but can be used in the produce and meat industries according to the company.

Its small pitch, 48% open area and belt pull strength all combines to make it a versatile new belt. And its modular, plastic construction requirerelatively little maintenance and reduces costly downtime, says Intralox.
On seafood applications, the new series 1500 belt's open area provides excellent recovery of excessive breading as well as generous airflow for drying product and coatings. The belts "plow" feature aids in scraping excessive breading from the surface for more efficient clean up and recovery. The open area plays a similar role in enrobing applications, allowing excess icing, chocolates and oils to readily flow through while the airflow enhances cooling. The new belt is capable of nosebar transfers as small as 12.7 mm (0.5 inch), important in preserving product quality in breading, enrobing and general transfer.
The series 1500 flush grid belt also offers a number of important operational benefits:
Its modular, plastic construction requires relatively little maintenance and reduces costly downtime. In many applicants, its service life is longer, so replacement costs are reduced costly down time. In many applicants, its service life is longer, so replacement costs are reduced. If repairs are necessary, the modular construction and rod retention system allow quick, easy, on-frame repairs without any special tools. The absence of pinch points on the new belt make it more operator -- friendly than wire, especially on lines where employees work directly on the surface.
The 1500 flush grid belt allows use of a single belt where multiplier mesh belts are required in various applications, eliminating the need for sticking larger numbers of spare belts the 1500 belt is available in widths starting at 203mm(8 inches) to 3606 mm (142 inches) in 50.8mm (2 inches) increments.
