Provisional programme details a wide range of expert insights

The release of the Provisional Conference Programme for the upcoming 100% Fish for Profit Conference will focus attention on the innovations and collaborations that are delivering positive results in the fisheries and aquaculture sectors.
Running alongside IceFish 2026 in Reykjavik, Iceland, the two-day conference – 23-24 September – will feature expert contributors to informative and inspirational panel discussions on international industry developments.
As a case in point the opening Keynote Panel discussion – Global Partnerships for a Global Seafood Challenge – will hear from Alexandra Leeper and Donna Fordyce, the CEOs of, respectively, the Iceland and Scottish Ocean Clusters, as well as additional panellists to be confirmed.
The following two sessions will further explore the part that innovation, notably in next generation technologies, and international collaboration are each playing in boosting business.
Enabling Technologies for Full Utilisation is the first session and will highlight the technologies making full utilisation commercially viable, including advanced processing and cold-chain innovation to AI, automation, and smart manufacturing.
Speakers will include Runar Gjerp Solstad, Senior Scientist in Marine Biology at Nofima, Nils Rabe, Global Sales Director Fish at Baader, Andrew Gillespie-McLean, Technical Sales Manager with Ace Aquatic, and Michaela Lindström, CEO and Founding Partner of the Finnish food-tech startup Hailia Nordic Oy.
Real world case studies from companies that have successfully implemented full utilisation strategies will be front and centre in the second session: Blueprints For Success: What is Transferable to Other Companies and Ecosystems.
This session will focus on practical lessons, transferable models and common pitfalls, providing clear takeaways that can be adapted across different species, regions, and scales of operation.
Among another multinational presenters, Ms Leeper will return to outline the Iceland Ocean Cluster experience, and will be joined by Kristian S. Ottesen, Director at Royal Greenland, and Ayella Spaapen, who leads a joint Dutch project with the Aeres University of Applied Sciences partnered with industry and government to upcycle regional fish waste into high-value products under the project’s title Nose of the Salmon – a Dutch idiom for ‘Best of the best’.
Also taking part is David Naftzger, Executive Director of The Great Lakes St. Lawrence Governors & Premiers, also known as GSGP that unites the chief executives from Illinois, Indiana, Michigan, Minnesota, New York, Ohio, Ontario, Pennsylvania, Québec and Wisconsin, and which has launched its own 100% Great Lakes Fish initiative.
