Bergen, Norway-headquartered pelagic fish company Pelagia AS has signed agreements with Vigner Olaisen AS and Fjellmyhr AS to purchase the remaining shares in Aquarius AS.

In a 12 December 2022 filing with Oslo Børs, the company states, “Pelagia AS earlier owned 66% of the shares in Aquarius AS and after the transactions today Pelagia AS owns 100% of the shares in Aquarius AS.”
Pelagia AS is a 100% owned subsidiary of Pelagia Holding AS.
In 2022, Aquarius landed a record volume of pelagic by-products at Lovund all of which is utilised in the production of protein concentrate and fish oil.
In a statement on Pelagia’s website, CEO Egil Magne Haugstad commented: “Pelagia considers Aquarius to be an efficient well-run factory and we look forward to being an integral part of its future development. Pelagia strives to be a good customer to our suppliers by utilising a combination of efficient operations, a coherent marketing strategy and a strong internal working culture. As such, Pelagia will use this acquisition to further benefit Lovund and our suppliers.”
