Skretting

Skretting is a global aquafeed company with fish and shrimp feed production on all major continents

Located in Stavanger, the Skretting AS feed mill has met the requirements of the BAP feed standard which include sourcing requirements for both marine and terrestrial ingredients for all aquafeeds produced at the mill.

“This is BAP’s first certified feed mill in Norway, meaning that fish farms can now source from a BAP-certified mill in Norway and will be able to communicate to their customers accordingly that their feed is responsibly produced. Personally, I am proud and happy about the BAP certificate and want to thank my colleagues for a well-executed and thorough audit so we can also deliver BAP-certified aquafeeds from Norway,” Skretting Quality Director Nina Flem said.

“Congratulations to Skretting on being the first in Norway, this is a really important step for a critical part of the aquaculture supply chain,” said Iain Shone, GSA’s director of market development for Europe.

The BAP third-party aquaculture certification programme has standards covering environmental responsibility, social responsibility, food safety, animal health and welfare and traceability.

At the end of March 2023, there were nearly 3,400 BAP-certified processing plants, farms, hatcheries and feed mills in 44 countries on six continents.
