The Global Sustainable Seafood Initiative (GSSI) has announced that BluGlacier has joined the GSSI Global Partnership as a funding partner.
BluGlacier LLC supplies BAP and ASC certified Chilean salmon to the United States. BluGlacier’s parent companies Salmones Blumar SA and Ventisqueros SA produce more than 90 million pounds of farmed Atlantic salmon annually.
“By joining GSSI, BluGlacier confirms the commitment of its parent companies, Salmones Blumar and Ventisqueros, to pursue transparency and sustainability in all their business practices. This commitment is integral to their, and our, relationships with our stakeholders.” said Sebastian Goycoolea, chief executive of BluGlacier.
“For both companies, sustainability is key to their strategic roadmaps and has led them to always strive to meet best practices,” he added.
