Biomega AS products - delivered as food ingredients (sports nutrition and omega 3), pet food ingredients, nutritional supplements, industrial bioactive components and feed ingredients - can now carry the FoS seal of approval.

The raw materials are sourced only from trimmings of approved Friend of the Sea farmed Atlantic salmon, which optimises the use of marine resources. Biomega ensures that every gram of the salmon is turned into nutritional components and that no waste is generated.

The company has an efficient traceability system in place - throughout the supply chain from the production sites, to the state-of-the-art manufacturing facility, through to the consumer’s product. Analytic reports on tracking and tracing are available in order to demonstrate the product respects all requirements of Friend of the Sea Chain of Custody standard.

“We are enthusiastic in being part of the Friend of the Sea project,” said Jan Arne Vevatne, managing director of Biomega AS. “Friend of the Sea eco-label explains our demanding customers that our company cares about the environment and conservation.”
