Aquaculture industry supplier FiiZK has announced a significant contract to supply two large ‘Protectus’ closed fish cages to an undisclosed fish farmer in Norway.
Each 156m perimeter cage has volume of approximately 30,000 cubic metres and will be manufactured at FiiZK’s headquarters in Trondheim and its facility near Bergen.

The contract, the value of which has not been revealed, marks a successful 12-month turnaround for the company.
“We have spent the past 12 months further developing and enhancing our products, streamlined our business to focus solely on closed and semi-closed fish cages, and prepared our team to provide the best possible support to fish farmers that have closed cages as part of their production strategy,” said Jan Erik Kvingedal, chief executive of FiiZK.
The Protectus model integrates features from FiiZK’s previous designs – ‘Certus’, ‘Ecomerden’ and ‘Starfish’ – which collectively have completed more than 70 production cycles.
It includes a floating steel collar for operational safety and a heavy-duty PVC tarpaulin bag serving as the main containment barrier. An innovative water management system ensures a continuous supply of fresh, lice-free water while effectively handling waste.
FiiZK is now focused exclusively on closed and semi-closed fish cages, alongside associated software and services, following recent investments from Nekkar and BEWI Invest, which solidified their positions as the company’s largest shareholders.
