The farming application – to be part of its existing operational facilities – is for a total 2,200 tonnes of post-smolt and applied salmon production.

BioFish also recently confirmed the receipt of new contracts valued at around NOK 24 million (US$2.7 million) for the delivery of post-smolt from Norwegian salmon farming company Bolaks AS.

Privately-owned Bolaks, which holds 12 licences for the production of salmon, is a new customer for BioFish. Through the contract, half of the post-smolt will be delivered in spring 2023 and the rest during spring 2024. In addition, there is an option for a similar delivery contract for spring 2025.

BioFish’s production takes place at its land-based, recirculating aquaculture system (RAS) production unit in Kvam on the west coast of Norway. This facility provides smolt to salmon farms all along the Norwegian coast and to customers in northern Europe.
