Icelandic company Nyherji used the Icelandic Fisheries Exhibition to put its "mySAP All-in-One Fish" software on display, offering what it calls a state-of-the-art human resources and business solution for fishing companies.
The package is an integrated system based on the mySAP Business Suite platform, adjusted and tailored to the needs of Icelandic fishing and seafood processing companies.
It tackles purchasing, discharging systems, inventory, sales, transportation, internal and external finances, human resources, payroll (including land-based personnel as well as seafaring crew), job-order costing and services.
The system has been developed in collaboration with Icelandic fish-catching and processing company Samerji, along with Marel, the manufacturers of high-tech processing equipment for the food industry. The present system uses a configuration related to Marel's own production systems, but Nyherji's Geir Prainsson (pictured) says that they can develop interfaces connections with other systems.
Nyherji says the mySAP All-in-One Fish software for Samherji has produced "substantial benefits" for its IT systems at its various branches in Iceland. It covers its headquarters, shrimp-processing plant and on-shore processing plant in northern Iceland. The SAP solution handles all of the company's principal processes at these branches, and data on quality and production for the plants are recorded in Marel's production system. Other Samherji branches use the SAP solution for all their personnel and payroll needs.
Nyherji was a finalist in the Best Product Award launched at the Icelandic Fisheries Exhibition. For more information go to www.worldfishing.net/830
