Wisefish has launched AI Connect, enabling artificial intelligence tools to access live operational data across seafood businesses, from raw material sourcing and production to sales and customer delivery.

The new capability connects tools including Claude, ChatGPT and Microsoft Copilot directly to Wisefish and Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central data, allowing users to retrieve information across the value chain, whether seafood is caught, farmed or purchased. AI Connect is available as an add-on to Wisefish customers using its software-as-a-service platform.

“AI is only as useful as the data it can reach and the controls around it,” said Ari Hróbjartsson, director of product at Wisefish. “We connect it directly to live operational data. It works within each user’s existing Business Central permissions.”

The integration allows employees to ask questions in everyday language and receive information according to their existing access rights. Sales teams can check stock availability and order status before contacting customers, while production managers can compare yields between lots. Quality teams can trace products back to their origin, and finance departments can examine product costs and margins more quickly.

By providing access to shared, up-to-date information, the system aims to reduce manual data requests and reliance on spreadsheets, helping teams make decisions using consistent operational figures.

Seafood operations present particular challenges for data management because raw materials can have multiple origins, yields and resulting products. Wisefish says its industry-specific data structure enables AI tools to work with this complexity, supporting visibility and traceability throughout production and distribution.

Wisefish plans to continue extending the integration in response to customer needs. Alongside the software add-on, it offers advisory services to help seafood businesses implement AI capabilities and identify opportunities for further development.
