WCPFC member states urged to uphold UN agreement

Accountability.Fish has raised further concerns over the lack of transparency within the Western Central Pacific Fisheries Commission (WCPFC), which governs nearly 60% of the world’s tuna supply. The NGO has publicly named 17 member states that actively block observers from attending key sessions of its Technical and Compliance Committee (TCC) meeting, which it says equates to a failure to uphold their obligations as signatories of the United Nations Fish Stocks Agreement (UNFSA).
