The Icelandic Fisheries Awards will be held on the opening evening of the exhibition, and is hosted by the Ministry of Industries and Innovation, which includes fisheries, and the Kópavogur Municipal Council, during which the award winners will be announced.

Over the years a wide variety of companies and individuals have been recipients of an IceFish award, with both established companies in the industry and newcomers receiving commendations for innovation.

“The awards are a key part of every exhibition. There is always a lot of focus on the companies and individuals who receive an Icelandic Fisheries Award in both the local media and internationally, in particular with the awards for innovative products and the leading Icelandic skipper and fishing company always eagerly awaited,” said Mercator Media's events director Marianne Rasmussen-Coulling.

“There are opportunities for companies of all sizes to come away with an award. The criteria are simply that the product has to be something smart that the industry needs. So if you're exhibiting at IceFish and your company has something new an imaginative the fishing industry needs to know about, or if you would like to nominate someone else, then we would encourage you to fill in the online nomination form and let the judging panel know about it.”

The entry closing date is 31st July, so enter now!
