More than a quarter of the companies participating in the 2014 exhibition have already booked their spaces for next year's event. With the 2017 sales brochure due to be made available to our entire client database later this month, we are expecting regular exhibitors from Iceland and other countries to confirm their prime spots for the coming exhibition, as well looking forward to welcoming newcomers to this growing event.

Returning to Iceland from 13 to 15 September 2017 on the three-year cycle that has been in place since the inaugural exhibition in 1984, IceFish has marked the changes in the Icelandic fishing industry over the years, not least the focus placed on technology and the necessity of maximising value from every kilo of fish landed. Since 1984 Iceland's fishing industry has been through seismic changes and experienced both feast and famine as the fleet has become increasingly streamlined. The innovative service industry behind it has led the way in ensuring that every good idea to make fishing more competitive becomes a reality, either on the deck or the factory floor. This proximity to Iceland's fisheries sector makes IceFish is the prime event of its kind for fishing and processing technology.

The 2014 exhibition marked a watershed of increased optimism in the industry across the North Atlantic, with more interested visitors coming from other countries, with visitors from 52 nations attending, and overall visitors up by 12% compared to the previous event.

In response to exhibitor and visitor wishes, the exhibition now runs Wednesday-Friday instead of the traditional Thursday-Saturday schedule. Furthermore, the 2017 exhibition will, in response to demand, feature a new Small Business Zone with ready-made stands, designed to meet the needs of small and start-up businesses seeking to establish contacts with potential customers at a cost-effective rate.

Companies and previous exhibitors who have yet to book a stand for 2017 should contact Marianne Rasmussen-Coulling, either by email or phone: icefish@icefish.is | +44 1329 825335
