From its fishing operations in the Falkland Islands and South Georgia, Fortuna supplies seafood to over 20 countries worldwide and, with its joint venture partners, employs over 200 people.
The group is the largest vessel and quota owner in the Falkland Islands and supplies a major part of the global production of Loligo squid and Southern Blue Whiting. Other species include Kingclip, Southern Hake (Australis), Common Hake (Hubbsi), Whiptail Hake (Hoki), Red Cod, Illex squid and Rock Cod (Marujito). Fortuna also fishes and markets MSC-certified Chilean Sea Bass. The group's principal products are 10kg and 5kg blocks of Loligo squid, and HGT finfish (interleaved and IWP) approximately 16kg, all processed and quick frozen at sea in factory vessels. The group's added-value range includes Tubes and Tentacles, Rings and Tentacles, and Stuffed Squid. Southern Blue Whiting is produced onboard in two formats; HGT interleaved and skin-on fillets.
