Faroese trawl producer Vónin has reported that the crew of ‘Tummas T’ are very happy with their Vónin HEX trawl.

Tummas T is one of the newly purchased pelagic vessels in the Faroese fleet and has been fishing around the Islands for some time now.

When the vessel arrived, a new 2,400m HEX trawl was delivered from Vónin, mainly intended for pair trawling for mackerel and herring in Faroese waters. The trawl performed very well and was light to tow and easy to handle.

When the vessel was given a share of the blue whiting quota this spring, the decision was taken to try the 2,400m trawl with the 13m2 Injector doors that were purchased upon the vessel’s arrival.

Vónin says that this decision proved to be a good one - Tummas T completed its 9,300t blue whiting quota in just six trips using the 2,400m HEX trawl.
