It has been a busy year for Spanish marine and industrial refrigeration equipment specialist Tucal with orders aplenty from the fishing and seafood industries.

A Tucal spokesman told WF the company is presently involved in the following projects:

  • Construction of a series of 10 vertical plate freezers Russian standard (with horizontal vertical dividers) for a Lithuanian shipowner;
  • Supply and installation of a turnkey refrigeration installation with IQF plate freezer for the freezing of trout in Asturias (Spain);
  • Supply and installation of a compact horizontal plate freezer with capacity for 12 tonnes of cephalopods per day in Mauritania; and
  • Construction of horizontal plate freezers for a number of shipowners in Spain and South America.

Tucal has also delivered a number of turnkey refrigeration and air conditioning installations onboard fishing vessels.

It is at present working in the construction of vessels C-1666 and C-1667 at HJ Barreras Shipyard in Vigo, Spain.
