The 2009 World Fishing Exhibition and AQA Exhibition will be the most internationally diverse event yet in the series. Participants from more than 105 countries will be in attendance which will make Vigo, Spain the business centre of the commercial fishing and aquaculture industry from the 16-19 September 2009.
First time exhibitors at WFE include companies from Russia, Malaysia, India, North and South Korea, China, Lithuania, Turkey and Thailand among others and the international halls will be taken up by companies from Iceland, China, Denmark, France, Holland, Faroe Islands, Italy, Norway, United Kingdom, Senegal, Sweden and Taiwan. The Spanish presence is also very important; Xunta de Galicia will have a large stand on which it will show off its vast experience and know-how in fisheries and aquaculture. Andalusia, Valencia, Murcia and the Canary Islands will also be present. And the EU will be represented by the Community Fisheries Control Agency and the European Maritime Safety Agency; both entities will host the Europe Day which will be celebrated within the Exhibition on 18 September.
Denmark is widely represented with 10 companies coming together on the Danish stand, making it the largest representation of Danish companies ever at WFE. These companies will show the latest technologies, machinery and equipment for the fishing industry for both off- and onshore purposes.
