The organisers of AquaVision 2014 have announced that Sir Bob Geldof will be one of the main speakers at the conference in June.

“Sir Bob Geldof is one of the world’s highest ranked and most authoritative corporate speakers and I am therefore delighted he will be one of our main speakers at AquaVision 2014,” said Viggo Halseth, COO of Nutreco Aquaculture.
“His presentations are highly provocative, uplifting and inspiring. Sir Bob motivates audiences through his own personal experiences, the lessons learned from Live Aid as well as from building successful commercial businesses. At the conference we will explore ways in which aquaculture can contribute sustainably to feeding the planet’s growing population”.
AquaVision is a biennial international aquaculture conference, organised by Skretting and its parent company Nutreco since 1996. This year’s conference will be held in Stavanger, Norway on 16-18 June 2014.
The FAO (Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations) says that current global food production needs to increase 70% by 2050 in order to feed two billion additional people, with aquaculture playing an important part.
In his keynote speech, Sir Bob Geldof will delve into the topic of finding a way for governments, corporations and NGOs to work together strategically to overcome world challenges.
The theme for AquaVision 2014 is ‘Meeting tomorrow today’, and the two-day programme will discuss three main topics: ‘Feeding 9 billion people’, ‘The blue revolution’ and ‘Beyond tomorrow’.
