Swedish fish processing machine manufacturer AB SEAC has redesigned one of the most common fish processing machines on the market – the ARENCO SFD-300.

“The machine can now handle fish down to 35/40 fish/kilo and we believe that this is the only machine in the world that can do such small fish”, Ulf Groenqvist, president of AB SEAC, told World Fishing.

The History of SFD-300

The ARENCO SFD-300 was designed during the 1950s and 1960s. The machine was original designed for the filleting of sardines and was delivered to over 2,000 places around the world.

There are still machines in operation after over 40 years of production – and the machine can be found on almost all continents.

Versatile and easy to handle

The ARENCO SFD-300 is a versatile, robust machine that is perfect for small and medium sized companies. The machine is small in size (probably the smallest filleting machine for pelagic fish in the world), and it is equipped with wheels which means that it can be moved from one place to another very easily. The machine is easy to handle, operate and maintain.

Redesigned for small fish

The SFD-300 machine has been redesigned with:

• A complete new infeed table for smaller fish

• Fixing a stainless steel plate has been on the table

• Redesigning of the infeed chute

• All different devices in the machine have been adjusted to process minimum sized fish via longer shafts, new guides etc

• Material improvements added to the machine

The ARENCO SFD-300 will be able to fillet up to 250 fish/min which means that the machine will process double the capacity compared to the ARENCO/VMK SFA-11. The SFD-300 machine will process from 25-35/40 fish per kilo in XS-model (Table No 5) and up to 5/6fish per kilo with other infeed tables.

Due to the fact that the machine is not new – only completely renovated – it will have a price that is almost 50% less than similar new manufactured filleting machines on the market – and still has the same new guarantee.

However the machine can be built brand new, complete in stainless steel and plastic.

Redesigned H&G + T machine

AB SEAC has also redesigned the Arenco Nobbing Machine – CIS-N to be able to H&G + T small anchovy and similar fish down to approx 60/80 fish/kilo. With a capacity of up to 325 fish/min this machine is very well suited to the canning industry.

The machine is completely mechanically operated – no vacuum is used (but can be added as an option) – and this has proven to be an advantage on some special fish species such as saury, silver smelt, anchovy and sardines, but most type of pelagic fish can be processed in the machine which was the number one machine exported from ARENCO during the 1950-1980s.
