Processing solutions at the show
Marel Scandinavia will be showing a range of solutions for the fish industry during Danfish 2005. On the Danfish stage area a turn-key project will be introduced, which Marel Scandinavia recently delivered to Hanstholm Fish Auction, covering grading, registering and packing fresh fish as well as box handling and ice dosing. The high capacity solution provides the auction with the flexibility and throughput they need in a demanding environment. The entire system is controlled by the Marel MPS software system, which handles traceability throughout the process.

IPM III with tray-filler
Suitable for use with whitefish, salmon and most other species, the IPM III LaserEye is an ideal solution for the high value portioning of fillets to pre-defined shapes and weights. User-friendly, reliable and highly versatile, it uses the latest in 3D laser-vision technology to automatically evaluate each piece before cutting and then calculates the most economic cut configuration based on parameters pre-selected by the production manager.
The IPM III is ideal where high capacity is needed. The dual lane IPM III is available in three versions, each of which is specially adapted for processing fish fillets, poultry, meat, and whole fish.
The IPM III portioning machine will be exhibited in combination with a trayfiller for filling portions into plastic trays thus ensuring a minimum of handling.
Compact grader XL
The Compact Grader is a stand-alone solution designed to fulfill the needs of small operations, or those of larger companies requiring a machine to handle temporary or seasonal overflow. It is ideal where the need for automation does not justify the expense of a larger, more substantial grader. The Compact Grader is classified as economical, yet it is of standard Marel quality. It is now also available in an XL version for larger fish or fillets, which will be shown at the exhibition.
Standard Scales
The M1100 Series of land-based and marine scales includes general-purpose grading and packing scales. The M1100 is designed to meet the need for flexible, extremely robust scales in any sector of the food processing industry.
The M1100 is custom designed to withstand the harsh conditions of a wash down environment, hygienic and easy to clean. Available in several versions, the M1100 offers a weighing range of 1.5 kg to 3,000 kg, depending on the model. The M1100 can operate as a single or dual-range scale, changing from low to high range in response to the load on the platform.
Marine Pack
The Marine Pack System is a packing and labelling solution for use on-board which is designed to meet requirements for catch reporting and traceability. It is very simple to install and very user-friendly. The system consists of the well-known Optipack Lite Software, the robust M2200 marine scale, and a labelling printer. With this system, it is possible to prepare the catch for the auction already before entering the harbour, thus saving time and money, and at the same time ensuring fresher products.
