To support companies that have the ambition to increase circularity in the seafood space, the Iceland Ocean Cluster (IOC) and processing solutions provider Marel have announced a strengthening of their already longstanding relationship.
Moving forward, the two parties said in a press release that they will seek to collaborate in assisting seafood companies globally with the provision of better technologies for processing seafood that have a beneficial effect on the sustainability of the oceans.
Together, they will find ways to strengthen start-up activities that relate to blue ocean technology and not least technology that can improve the utilisation of seafood sidestreams, currently going to landfill in many countries.
Marel was one of the first companies to join IOC in 2011.
