Tecnored of Spain has recently introduced several new products in its manufacturing range such as ''Polysteel'' ''Tecnocompact'' and ''Tecnoplus'' .
The company says 'Polysteel' is a very strong, lightweight fibre making it specially useful when low elasticity is required, adding that is does a good job for codends and on the top part of big pelagic and mid-water trawls.
'Tecnocompact' is a standard Polyethylene outer with a high tension material core combining strength with abrasion resistance and offering a good compromise between these two characteristics. It performs especially well in bottom trawls, Tecnored says.
'Tecnoplus' is a 100 per cent, high-tenacity, synthetic material for the most demanding jobs. This especially strong material combines an extremely high-breaking strength to weight ratio with good elasticity. They say this rope has made it possible to redesign some trawls using thinner diameter twine to increase fuel efficiency.
