The Offshore Mariculture Conference Mexico 2017, will cover subjects from fish culture, to the crucial links in the supply chain including wholesale and marketing.

Taking place in Ensenada, Baja California, on the 6-10 of March; the 7th Offshore Mariculture conference, held in conjunction with INAPESCA, CONAPESCA and SEPESCA will examine the prospects for and practical solutions to issues around farming offshore in Mexico, and will focus on the production of Abalone, Mussels and the offshore farming of marine fin fish. It will also provide information about innovative feed solutions and alternatives, opportunities for financing aquaculture projects, the logistics of setting up offshore and how to meet increasing demands for sustainability in today’s society.
Including well-respected industry experts with a wide breadth of knowledge; speakers for the conference proceedings will cover all aspects of the mariculture process and discuss oppourtunities in this developing region.

Kelly Stromberg, Director of Aquaculture Operations, Catalina Sea Ranch, discussing: Development of Genetics-based Selective Breeding Protocols for Improvement of the Mediterranean Mussell, Mytilus galloprovincialis, and Advancement of Aquaculture.
Technical visits
The one and half days of technical visits will focus on working fish farms including visits to hatcheries, research laboratories, processing plants and offshore farms in the Ensenada region. Focussing on a tuna ranching farm, striped bass farm and a yellow-tail facility, along with a visit to Abalone farm.
The technical visits offer a fantastic opportunity for delegates to view working fish farms to experience the mariculture process in action.
