The Icelandic ship owner Isfelag has ordered two purse seiners/pelagic trawlers of Rolls-Royce design type NVC 352.

The vessels are to be built at Asmar Shipbuilding in Chile, and will be delivered in 2010 and 2011.
Rolls-Royce is delivering design and equipment as an integrated solution. In addition to design, Rolls-Royce is also delivering main engines, propulsion, rudder, steering gear, winches and automation and control systems.
Rolls-Royce says that reducing fuel costs was a key focus when designing the propulsion system. The machinery can operate in different modes, leading to reduced energy consumption and hence reduced environmental impact. The hull has been optimised for good sea keeping characteristics.
The 71 m long vessels will have 10 RSW tanks with a total capacity of 2000m3. There will be accommodation for 18 crew members, and the vessels will be equipped with the most modern electronic, fish finding and communication equipment.
