Cemre’s track record includes a series of four innovative Skipatækni-designed trawlers that were built for Icelandic owners. Björg, Drangey, Björgúlfur and Kaldbakur were all delivered in 2017 and have fished very successfully since, confirming that the distinctive inverted bow arrangement provides a highly stable working platform.

Last year the yard delivered Kongsberg-designed factory trawler Olympic Prawn, and this year has seen Cemre complete two ground-breaking fishing vessels as Libas and Hardhaus have been delivered to their Norwegian owners.

Both are designed by Salt Ship Design and feature highly innovative propulsion technology. Liegruppen’s Libas is the first fishing vessel to be built with LNG to power its main engine. The Cemre/Salt combination is continuing with an order placed by the same customer for a new Liafjord, again incorporating much imaginative technology. Cemre Shipyard is also building three 64 metre, Salt-designed pelagic vessels for Irish fishing company Atlantic Dawn Group.

Hardhaus has just completed its delivery trip from Yalova to Austevoll in Norway, and is being rigged out to start fishing. Hardhaus is built with a 1000kWh battery to enable peak shaving of energy loads, contributing to lower fuel consumption and emission levels, as well as providing an instant energy boost when required. Hardhaus also has a suite of electric deck equipment and a host of energy-saving systems, including high-efficiency heat recovery from the engines.

Cemre Shipyard is returning to IceFish this year.

“We are excited to take part in IceFish, a remarkable show gathering all key business leaders together, creating new opportunities for our teams to meet and engage with potential clients,” said the yard’s Business Development Manager Burak Mursaloglu.
