Tuzla, Istanbul-based based workboat builder Nova Shipyard successfully launched four new fishing vessels on 3 January 2022 in the presence of their owners, with the quartet on schedule to fulfil the contractually-planned delivery date at the end of January.

On arrival, all of the fishing vessels will operate out of Ouistreham in northwest France.

Following the project’s steel cutting towards the end of May 2021, the four boats were simultaneously built at Nova’s yard. They were designed by French-based Archi-Delion.

Their full hydraulic packages were engineered and provided by BOPP Treuils, the propulsion systems were provided by KORT Propulsion UK, while the main engines and gearboxes were from Moteurs Baudouin.

Nova highlighted that all of the manufacturers involved in the project were European-based companies and that their selection was based on the owners’ specific considerations, including the ease of operation and future maintenance.

Appearing at its first Icelandic Fisheries Exhibition this year, Nova Shipyard was founded just two years ago as a professional workboat builder. It builds a wide range of aluminium and steel vessels tailormade to meet its customers’ precise requirements.
